1/22/12 Inserts

You should find 2 inserts in today's newspapers:
     SmartSource and RedPlum

Don't forget to get your newspapers today.

Are you using any coupons?

Just wondering if anyone is using any of their coupons?  I used the Tide ($2.00 q) at CVS.  Remember that the Procter & Gamble coupons expire at the end of the month.  If you are looking for sale prices to use your coupons, check out a few of my favorite sites

Let me know what you bought.

1/8/12 Assignment

Make sure you buy your newspapers Sunday.  Check to make sure there are coupons inside each paper before you purchase it.  Our local Walgreens has started keeping the Southern Illinoisian behind the checkout counter because someone was stealing coupon inserts.  There will be several inserts tomorrow.

When you get home, use a sharpie to date the inserts and file them together by date.  This makes it simple to find the coupons you need.

I have coupons. Now what?

Use a sharpie to write the date on the front cover of each coupon insert.  (Today I wrote 1/1/12 on the front cover of each insert.)  Now file them together until you need a coupon.  I use a hanging file folder caddy.  However, when I first start couponing I used a plastic accordian file that I had here at home.  It doesn't really matter what you use, but it is important to keep the inserts together by date.

Did you remember to buy papers today?

I bought 4 newspapers today ( 3 from IL and 1 from IN).  Actually I sent my oldest son into Walgreens to pick up 2 papers for me.  I quickly checked for coupons and discovered that there were no coupons in either paper.  When I took the papers back the clerk and I went through 4 more papers.  Only 1 had coupons.  So I purchased it and when to CVS for the other 3 papers.  Lesson learned-- always check your newspapers for coupons before purchasing them.
